Join Emmy Award nominated “Sesame Street” performer Leslie Carrara-Rudolph, for Wake up Your Weird!, a whimsical live theatrical experience. Told in a two-act show and tell, this family-friendly show addresses bullying and self esteem issues while giving children the tools to navigate life creatively.

Wake Up Your Weird! is an energetic, hilarious show full of original songs, video shorts, puppetry, pink monkeys, and a Sasquatch followed by an interactive joyride where you get to move, sing, and laugh your way through more of Leslieʼs
stories and songs.

The first act tells the story of the puppet Lolly and the bullies, and the second act is an interactive workshop where Leslie and Lolly work with the kids on how to navigate through these situations. Wake Up Your Weird aligns with AISDʼs No Place for Hate initiative, and is appropriate for ages 6 and up.

Lolly is very excited for her trip to Portland, Oregon! So much so, in fact, she’s hoping the stars of Portlandia might just come see it.

UNIMA winning Sesame Street puppeteer, Leslie Carrara-Rudolph brings her wild and whimsical cabaret filled with live music, comedy, and puppetry to Tears of Joy Theatre. Leslie shares some of her more Entertaining Thoughts with audience through original music, comedy and a cast of puppets including a lounge lizard named Slax (made out of a dryer hose and a slipper), Velvet Laaaambmore a soul singin’ blue lamb, Granny Dot a spicy senior citizen, and her favorite sock puppet side kick, Lolly Lardpop. This is a “comedy concert” in which story telling can take the form of a mask piece, a shadow show or a spontaneous character.
